Youth Mascot

The Youth Services Committee ran a contest to find a mascot to promote Scottish Country Dance to young people, and after a lot of deliberation, we are pleased to introduce Rowan, the Scottish blackface dancing sheep!

The winning design was sent in by Lea Sophia Nikischin from the Central Germany Branch.

What was it all about?

The RSCDS ran a competition to find a mascot to promote SCD to young people, and the chosen mascot will be used in youth orientated events and initiatives such as Spring Fling, Global Youth Week and the Virtual Festival.

Designs were judged according to the following criteria: overall appeal, suitability, originality and personality. People of all ages and abilities entered, and we would like to thank everyone who took the time to submit their idea.
